Birthday Bash Giveaway

It's my birthday!!!

Well, my birthday isn't until the 31st but It's never too early to celebrate. Now, the 31st will be the anniversary of my 21st birthday is next Wednesday... go ahead and do the math.

I'll be 26 and I'm kind of freaking out about it. When you're growing up all you think about is reaching those major milestones... 16 when I could get my driving permit, 18 when I would be an adult and 21 when I could go out and party. Then last year was my 25th birthday and all my cards wished me a "Happy Quarter Century". Then it hit me... I was in my mid-twenties.

So, now I'm on my way to thirty. Do you remember when you were younger and thinking 30 was so old? I don't feel old and I certainly don't think 30 is old. So I refuse to change my youthful ways and grow up.

Anyway, I'm going to tell you a secret... I don't like my birthday. Yes, I like presents but what I hate is people singing Happy Birthday to me. I have learned to deal with it from my family but if we go out to a restaurant I forbid any public singing because I cry. I've been known to run to bathroom and hide under tables when the singing starts. The one time I was trapped and I cried my eyes out. I was 20.

But the best thing about birthday is the cake and the presents. I would love to send everyone some cake but I don't think it will ship well. So, how about some presents?

I like presents, and not only do I like receiving presents but I like giving presents. So for my birthday I'm giving away three of my favorite romance novels to three luck people.

Historical: The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley
Contemporary: Good Girl's Don't by Victoria Dahl
Paranormal: Dark Lover by JR Ward

To enter to win one of the books just fill out the form and tell me which book you would want as a present.

Good Luck! The giveaway is open until Aug. 31st at midnight. All I ask is that along with filling out the form you make sure you follow For The Love of Romance, because let's not forget I'm having a follower giveaway.

So, do you hate your birthday? Do you run screaming from the room like me when someone starts singing? Did you have a mid-twenty's crisis like did?

  5. You are just a baby! What I wouldn't give to be 26 again!! Think about this...My mom has the same birthday as you, the 31st. She will be turning 73! Think of all the wonderful memories you can make by the time you hit that birthday. Happy Birthday! And I would be happy with any of those books. Good Girls Don't or Dark Lover would probably be a tie if I had to choose.

I would love to win any of the books, but love historical romances. thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win.

  9. Happy Birthday BecM!

I hope everyone is safe from the hurricane if you live on the east coast. All is well here in NJ, just some branches and trees down but nothing major.

Eep! My birthday is in 2 days!

  11. Happy Birthday! I don't like mine either but then I have passed a few more milestones than you have. I remember my 30th as it was just after my daughter was born. I am a historical romance reader so The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley would be my choice for a 50+ birthday present.

  12. I totally understand you on the "omg i'm almost THIRTY" thing. I turned 28 in March and since I'm about 6 months older than my husband he get the right to goad me about being the first one to hit the big 3-0. He turned 28 on the 29th, you share you're birthday week with an amazing man. I'm nervous about 30 but I also fee like we'll get more street cred then. I hate when people look at your age and go you're not old enough to know things it took me til my 50's to learn. I once was told my baby cousin, who was about 8 or so at the time, couldn't spend the night with my son, who was 5, because I was too young. So I happily look forward to thirty, I don't however, look forward to forty at all. I hope you have a great birthday and aren't forced to be sung too! (I always turned a delighted (not) tomato red when I was sung to.)

  13. I think after you turn 21, birthdays are very anti-climactic. I could care less about my birthday, now. Turning 30 was a little difficult; but, I think I am a mellower person than I was in my 20's and I like myself better, too.

    Happy Blogging and Reading,

  14. Happy birthday!
I would love to go back to 26 again (I am 36). 30 did not bother me at all. Actually, the only birthday so far that has bothered me was when I turned 20, the thought of not being a teen anymore kind-of sucked. Now, I don't really think much about the number, I often have to stop and actually think about how old I am. (Maybe that's not a good thing, lol)
